Introduction

Alchemy was created as a response to the difficulties of film production at scale

It’s an industry with tight deadlines, constantly changing targets, and constantly changing technologies. After working on some of the largest films ever made, we knew there needed to be a way to make films that was more modular, expandable and nimble. Everywhere we went in the early day’s we’d pitch automation as “magic” until we started noticing patterns throughout production by working at massive scales. From this experience Alchemy was born.

With Alchemy you are the alchemist and you can create your own magic. Alchemy is a python library that allows you to create your own pipeline for your animated film. It is designed to be flexible and easy to use. It is also designed to be used with all DCCs commonly used in film produciton.
